The College is affiliated to University of Mysore (UoM).  UoM was founded by the then Maharaja of Mysore, Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV in the year 1916.  Great personalities like former President of India and great Philosopher Dr. S Radhakrishnan, Jnanapeetha awardee and eminent Litterateur Kuvempu, stalwarts like S Chandrashekhar, S. Srikanta Sastri etc served as faculty at University of Mysore. Among alumni R.K. Laxman, Infosys Narayana Murthy, former Chief Justice M.N.Venkatachalaiah are a few who studied at UoM. Among Public Universities in Karnataka, UoM stands first in NIRF ranking. It has been considered by UGC as University with potential for Excellence.

Recognition :

Our College is duly recognized by National Council for Teacher Education a Statutory body in the field of Teacher Education in the country.

Admissions

Eligibility : Candidates seeking admission to the B.Ed. programme should have the qualification as prescribed by NCTE and UGC and State Government :

 

Candidates with at least 50%  marks either in Bachelor’s degree and /or the Master’s degree with 50% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto. However SC/ST/PWD students have relaxation of 5% marks as prescribed by the State Govt.

 

 

INTAKE : The College intake per year is 50 students. Out of these students, 25 are allotted by Common Admission Cell (CAC), Govt. of Karnataka, Bangalore and the remaining 25 are being admitted by the College directly under Management Quota.

 

 

How to Apply : Desirous candidates who want to apply to our College can apply :-
(1) Directly to the College in Person.

(2) Online application can also be made : Those eligible candidates who apply by online should fill all the relevant details in the application and upload the same by paying a fee of Rs.150 through Net Banking /Credit Card /Debit Card /Paytm.

Those who apply online can submit their original marks cards and other documents with a printed copy of downloaded application :

  • 12th Standard Marks Card
  • Degree (three years) Marks Cards of all semesters
  • Master Degree (two years) Marks cards of all semesters (if applicable)
  • Income and Caste Certificates representing Categories
  • Copy of Aadhar card
  • 4 Pass port size and 4 stamp sized latest colour photos
  • Migration Certificate (Applicable to those students who studied their degree other than University of Mysore)
  • Eligibility Certificate issued by University of Mysore (Applicable to Graduates from outside Karnataka Universities only)

Fee Structure : For Govt. candidates the fee is as prescribed by the Govt. and for management candidates as prescribed by the management from time to time.

 

 

Curriculum : The Curriculum for the 2 years B.Ed. programme  is as prescribed by the University of Mysore which is recommended by the Karnataka State Higher Education Council (KSHEC).

 

Course Structure: The B.Ed. Programme is of Two years duration as per the mandate given by NCTE. The Programme has 4 semesters with a weightage of 600 marks for each semester. The total marks for the entire Programme including the Theory and Practical components is 2400. A student has to secure minimum 40% of marks  in Theory Papers and 50% marks in practical Papers to pass in the Programme.

Admission and Attendance Rules :

  • Admission to B.Ed degree is subject to the prevailing rules of the University of Mysore.
  • Candidates studied out side Karnataka should submit the Eligibility Certificate issued by the University of Mysore at their own cost.
  • Opportunity of Admission is provided without discrimination of caste, creed, sex, region and religion.
  • Application duly filled with all particulars sought therein should reach the college within the stipulated period along with the required enclosures.
  • Pending approval from the University of Mysore, provisional admission will be given to the candidates on joining the course.
  • Fees will not be refunded to a student who is admitted and desirous to leave the course in the middle.
  • All students should satisfactorily fulfill the stipulated 85% attendance requirement to be eligible for appearing in the University Examinations.
  • The Principal reserves the right of admission.
  • Admission to subsequent years of the course is subject to satisfactory performance in attendance, conduct and Academic progress in the previous year.
  • Violation of disciplinary code of the college and indulging in ragging by any student will attract stringent action.

 

Financial Assistance :

SC/ST/OBC/Minority Scholarships can be made use as per the provisions of the concerned State Government.

 

Nationalized Banks will offer Study Loans which can be availed directly consulting the Bank or through Vdiyalakshmi portal : www.vidyalakshmi.co.in. Provision of repayment of loan will be subsequent to appointment or as per the norms of the individual banks. Desirous students may approach banks concerned subsequent to admission to the course.
